Ordalium ~ Dear my love...
30/01/13

... Yes, a new drawing again. It seems that 2013 is a very inspirating year~
So, since I was thinking yesterday about the fact that I don't draw enough boys, here we go! Marius of my current Ordalium story project. I thought I could also draw a nice background again, but here I'm not really satisfied. I was more thinking about darker, depressive colours like in my previous Ordalium illustration, but the background messed everything up :p I maybe should have coloured it with watercolour instead of markers.
(As for his pose... I tell you, reading too much boy's love stuff isn't good for my mental sanity ♥)

I have another drawing I wanted to finish this evening. If I get it done in one hour, I'll post it, too!

Here is your requested critique from :iconcriticentrum:~

Positives:</u>
> kjdfksd - this is another stunning piece of work!
> First of all, I really adore this character - again, his outfit is just stunning (you're so brilliant at coming up with clothing designs) and those boots - I want some!
> The character's pose is fantastic as well, especially with the way he's against the cross there. I love how he is reaching out and that other arm is reaching too - the mystery here, from who this arm belongs to and what is happening is just wonderful.
> The details you've included in this piece are fantastic as well - the way you've drawn the dripping wax from the candle, the brick work on the back wall, and all the details in the clothes - all superb!
> And finally the colouring - the colouring is beautiful~ The range of colours on the candles looks brilliant and you've captured the tones on the skin and clothing perfectly.

Improvements:
> The hand behind the guy's head needs a little work, I think.
> Because the background is stained glass windows, some shadows would be seen on this where the patterns overlap etc - I think, and in some areas the light gets through easier so it looks brighter - I think a slight variation in tones on the windows would help them look a little more realistic.
> A few more lighter tones on the guy's hair would look good too, I think =)

Another amazing piece~ =D
